5. Rheinhardts “Art is …” and “Art is not …” as a methodology contains the same circular (a=b, as well as b= -(-a)). If one attributes “Art is taste” then we automatically fall into subjectivity and opinion. If on the other hand “Art is art” it escapes and reaffirms its own tautology by the proclamation, the ‘Performative Act’, and is a return to the artist and his choice.
6. After each addition, subtraction, a decision is made. The artist chooses from different possibilities, leading to the next act. Finally, deciding, choosing, “it is art” (or not).
